Privacy Policy

Last Updated: December 12, 2025

Welcome to Readino ("we," "our," or "us"), a learning-to-read mobile application for children ages 3–8, published by Héctor Ullate. We are committed to protecting your privacy and the privacy of your children.

This Privacy Policy explains what information we collect, how we use it, and your rights regarding your data. By using Readino (the "App"), you agree to the practices described in this policy.

1. No Server Storage

We do not maintain user data on our servers.

Readino does not operate its own backend servers to store personal user data. We do not require you to create a cloud account, and we do not store login credentials or profile data remotely. Your progress and settings live entirely on your device.

2. Data We Collect and How We Use It

On-Device Data

During the onboarding process, you may provide information such as:

  • Child's Name (or nickname)
  • Child's Age
  • Reading Level
  • Educational Preferences

How we use it: This information is used solely to personalize the reading experience within the App. It is stored locally on your device, is not encrypted, and is never transmitted to us or any third party.

Third-Party Services (Facebook SDK - iOS Only)

In the iOS version of our App, we use the Meta (Facebook) SDK to help us run and optimize our ad campaigns for new app downloads and subscriptions. We send standard app events relating to campaign performance, such as:

  • App Installs
  • App Opens
  • Subscription Events

Important: The Android version of Readino does not include the Facebook SDK and does not send any app events to Meta. For the iOS version, the data shared with Meta is used solely to measure ad effectiveness and does not include any of your child's profile information, reading progress, name, or age.

In compliance with Apple's App Tracking Transparency framework, iOS users are presented with a prompt allowing them to opt out of tracking before any data is shared. You may also adjust your iOS device settings at any time to disable ad tracking.

3. Children’s Privacy (COPPA Compliance)

Readino is directed at children ages 3–8. We comply with the Children's Online Privacy Protection Act (COPPA).

  • No Personal Data Collection: We do not verify, collect, store, or transmit personal information from children to our servers or third parties (other than the anonymous usage events described above).
  • Parental Control: The App includes a protected Parent Section secured by a parent-gate challenge (e.g., a math problem) to ensure children cannot access settings, external links, or purchasing features.
  • On-Device Only: All child-specific data remains on the device.

4. Payment Information

Readino is a subscription-based app. All payments are processed securely through the Apple App Store or Google Play Store.

  • We do not collect, process, or store your credit card or payment information.
  • Subscriptions are tied to your Apple ID or Google Account.
  • Refund requests are handled directly by the respective App Store in accordance with their policies.

5. Your Rights

Since we do not store your data on our servers:

  • Access & Deletion: You can access or delete your data at any time by simply opening the App or deleting the App from your device. Deleting the App permanently removes all on-device data.
  • Opt-Out: You have the right to opt out of Facebook SDK tracking via the prompt at launch or your device settings.
